What is EC Home Improvement?
A consumer home improvement loan program, EC Home Improvement is designed to help you make your home more energy-efficient. Loan rates are competitive, terms are flexible and all loans are unsecured. Applying for an ECHI loan is easy, too. Just one toll-free call could have you approved in as little as 10 minutes!

What Are The Requirements?

• You must be a homeowner or own manufactured housing on a permanent foundation

• You are not required to be a member of the co-op
• You must use a contractor sponsored by the co-op
• You must have acceptable credit

What Are The Terms Of The Loan?

• There's no down payment or application fee
• Loan amounts are from $1,000 to $25,000
• Your loan is unsecured so there are no closing costs or hidden fees
• The interest rate is determined by loan amount, loan term and the customer's credit rating
• You can prepay at any time without penalty

How To Apply For A Loan?
After calling Coastal Electric for a list of participating contractors, choose one to visit your home to estimate the cost of the improvements you want made.

• Call the ECHI toll-free phone number, 1-866-278-2700, and a Loan Specialist will explain the terms and conditions of the loan.
• If you choose to proceed with financing, the Loan Specialist will obtain the application information over the phone and advise you of a credit decision within about 10 minutes.

Who Provides The Funding?

• Funding for the EC Home Improvement program is provided through an outside lender.
• The customer will receive a coupon book from the lender to submit payments. You will not be billed via your Coastal Electric utility bill.

• For information about how the work will be done, call your contractor
• For answers to questions about your loan after it has been approved, you'll be given a toll-free number to call at any time
